Vice President of Operations
Lori Merriman attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and graduated from Concordia University with a degree in Management and Communications. She began working in the insurance industry in 1998. In 2008, Missouri General merged with the agency for which Lori worked. She accepted a position as a Project Manager at that time. Lori was quickly promoted to Office Manager and shortly thereafter Director of Operations. She is currently Vice President of Operations; a role she has served since 2016. Lori is currently the Secretary of the St. Louis Chapter of Applied Client Network. This organization supports the agency management software widely used in the insurance industry. In her spare time, Lori loves cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and Blues. She loves traveling and spending time at the beach or on the water. Lori resides in Festus with her husband and two teenage children.
Director of Marketing
Mitch O’Brien has over 25 years of experience as a president and commercial lines marketer. The training and experience gained as an underwriter for various insurance companies have given Mr. O’Brien the skills to negotiate excellent terms and conditions for a variety of clients. He has worked on accounts ranging from small business owners to commercial accounts with exposures nationwide and annual premiums up to $2,000,000.
Agency Technology Manager
Bill Reilly has been with Missouri General since 2017. He oversees and administrates the technology of the agency including the insurance software, IT configuration and security, and internal networking. After graduating from Olivet Nazarene University in 2014, Bill soon began his career in the insurance technology industry. He joined Applied Systems which develops specialized software for insurance agencies. After ten months, he was promoted to manage Applied’s large clients and flagship product, Epic. He gained experience, and after a few years, he became a primary contact for Missouri General’s software transition and was offered a position soon after meeting. In March of 2017, he accepted the position of Data Specialist with Missouri General and was subsequently promoted to Agency Technology Manager in 2019. Bill can be found playing volleyball and tinkering with computers in his free time, and he enjoys the technical and analytical aspects of working with the Missouri General.
Nancy joined Missouri General Insurance Agency in February of 2019, accepting the position of Operations Manager. Nancy is responsible for keeping the office running smoothly and safely; she ensures all team members have the tools they need to do their jobs efficiently to meet our clients’ needs. Prior to joining Missouri General, Nancy was with Larson Financial Advisors as a Case Manager for the Life Insurance Operations Department and within a few months was promoted as the Insurance Operations Manager. Preceding Larson, Nancy was with Portamedic Paramedical Exams for 15 years. She began as the Assistant Branch Manager, then Branch Manager, and within a few years was promoted to Territory Operations Manager. Nancy has always been driven by client satisfaction.
Personal Lines Manager
Cassandra (Cassie) Sparks served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years before starting her insurance career at Safeco Insurance Company as part of their customer service unit in 1998. Safeco closed the Saint Louis unit in 2001, which is when Cassie started working with independent agencies as a personal lines account manager and agent. Cassie earned her Certified Insurance Service Representative designation in 2005. In her 20+ years working in the independent insurance industry, she has worked with numerous carriers, gaining vast insurance knowledge. This has helped her keep up with ever-changing coverages and appetite for business by each carrier. Cassie is married and has 2 sons. She enjoys taking walks with her Weimaraner and traveling with her husband.
Benefits Manager and Producer
Alberto has headed the Benefits Department at Missouri General Insurance since 1998. He has been an insurance agent for over 24 years and currently holds licenses in Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Illinois, D.C., and Ohio. Mr. Lugo has training in Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Business Insurance, Group Medial, Group Disability, Group Dental, Senior Market, and Long Term Care. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with his Bachelor's Degree and is married with two children.
Business Development Manager and Producer
Mike Clark has over 35 years of experience in the independent insurance industry with an emphasis on small to mid-market commercial accounts. He has worked at all levels including customer service, account management, producer, and agency manager. That experience has brought him to Missouri General to serve as Business Development Manager, enabling the agency to have an in-house, dedicated mentor and coach to individuals wanting to become insurance professionals. Mike resides in St. Peters with his wife and enjoys spending time with his six children. He can often be found anywhere near a body of water when not in the office.
